My husband I loved the Aviary! Its unbelievable how many birds they have there. My favorite was the eagle and beautiful white owl. Its very family friendly and not very expensive. You can stay all day if you'd like and they have a little food court also. Its close to the children's museum also. Parking wasn't a problem at all.

This was a lot of fun for me, my wife and two young children. The variety of birds was amazing. It was more enjoyable than I was expecting. Many of the rooms you went into allowed you to be next to the birds with no cage in between. There was a wide range of bird types from tropical to woodland. The penguin habitat had some dirty windows that made it somewhat difficult to see in places. I would definitely recommend this to someone looking to take their family.

This is a great place to visit in Pittsburgh! I loved the open rooms where you could sit and watch the birds move about. My husband and I saw the whole aviary in an afternoon with plenty of time spent just sitting and watching. They have great staff and volunteers in every area that are eager to answer questions and share information about the birds and the facility. A great place for the whole family!

Great place for kids to visit, but was still good for us young at heart. I'd recommend going on a weekday. It's quite crowded on weekends and space is tight all around. Definitely check the schedule and plan your trip in advance if you want to catch the penguin feeding or similar. Parking is $5 for the east entrance, but you don't find out until you pay for tickets inside. Don't forget to check out the owls, outside!

My husband and I visited and it was a great date day! There were mostly families with kids there, but there's no reason adults shouldn't come enjoy a visit. Our favorite was the grasslands-being surrounded with the bird calls and having them fly around us was magical. We went back a second time before we left! You are also able to get a close up look at penguins, see a variety of beautiful owls, and an adorable little armadillo. They also have two other rooms where the birds are flying freely around you.
