The Actors' NET of Bucks County is an actor-driven company -- run by actors, for actors -- attracting the Delaware Valley's best non-union talent to work and grow together in meeting the challenges of a diverse repertoire.

Since its founding in 1996 by Cheryl and Joe Doyle, a married couple whose acting credits nationwide span stage, radio, television and film, The NET has produced more than 60 productions -- from musical revues to Broadway musicals to classic American comedies to new dramas to Shakespeare and Ibsen.

Cheryl serves as the company's artistic director, Joe as managing director and playwright-in-residence. They reside in Morrisville, PA.

As resident theater company at the intimate 85-seat Heritage Center (which The NET's corps of volunteers converted from municipal garage into performance space), Actors' NET enjoys a unique partnership with the Borough of Morrisville. The theater is the centerpiece of the borough's riverfront development project, being led by the Morrisville Heritage Development Association (MHDA), the nonproifit arm of the borough's Economic Development Commission (EDC); soon to include the addition of a tourist's visitors center next door and a seasonal cafe across the street.

An Actors' NET board of directors consisting of area businessmen serve as advisers and is headed by Ted Fletcher of Morrisville. Company technical director is Anne Rudisill of Yardley. Cat Miller of Levittown is staff choreographer. Musical directors are Pat Masterson of Lambertville, Susan Ferrara Barto of Yardley, and Emily Van Praag of Chalfont.

Besides averaging a production a month in the intimate space, Actors' NET offers stage training for youngsters 7 to 17 -- with courses during the school year as well as their popular four-week Summer Star program in July and August. The NET also has launched the Bucks County Historical Theatre Company, which will present stage plays celebrating the region and nation's rich history.
