Loved our stay here. There were so many activities and the staff was phenomenal. The rooms were comfortable other than the beds which were not to my personal liking because both me and my husband like a firm bed. The only issue we had was one particular employee (some sort of manager it seemed) on two separate occasions came up to us and without permission started touching our infant. I get it, she's a super cute baby and that person was in a position of power, but that doesn't mean it's okay to touch other people without consent. My husband and I were left incredibly uncomfortable by that behavior and we didn't really know how to react. All the other staff though were absolutely amazing, laid back, helpful, and enjoyable to be around.

Awesome time. More family friendly then expected. Night life ends at midnight but the shuttle is a good service. Staff was courteous, besides Mary who answers the phone at main desk. She was repeatedly rude and apparently other staff has a similar view.

The area in which Split Rock is located is really beautiful. I have visited there for over ten years. I have to admit, I liked the ambiance (of the formerly called "Galleria"- I think it may be called Center- the main hotel building) MUCH better before they renovated it- before the ceiling was lowered and a bar put in right as you walk in. Additionally, there is something weird and dizzying about the carpet there. Oh, well.. It is still a beautiful place, with hiking (skiing during the winter), boating (paddle boats, kayaks, etc) next to the lagoon, & of course, the indoor water park ("H2Ooohh).

I love this place, but communication between departments needs to improve. Reservation did not match our need for a handicapped room for my mother. We ended up on second floor. Great family resort.

We were at Split Rock Resort for a week (Sunday to Sunday). It was nice and quiet till Friday, it got busy. There was a wedding going on Saturday night, and we had several drunks fighting in front of our room at 1a.m. on Sunday morning that I figure were from the wedding. If you like going to bed and hearing "Turn down for what", you would've slept like a baby Saturday night since that is what the dance floor at the wedding was playing, we could hear it from our room. It's not a Red Roof Inn, but it's not a 5 star resort either. We stayed on the 3rd floor of the main building. The queen size bed in our room was probably the most uncomfortable mattress I've ever slept on, it may have come from the Red Roof Inn. I'm guessing it was 30 years old. I'm wishing in hindsight me and my wife would've just slept on the pull out sofa, I'm sure it would've been more comfortable. The water pressure in the shower was so weak, it barely washed the soap off of our body. Oh and we could forget using the whirlpool tub in the room, it didn't work. They supplied us with 2 rolls of toilet paper for the week, for a room that sleeps 6 people with 2 bathrooms. When I saw a maid in the hallway Friday night, I asked if could I get a roll and she was like "do you really need a roll?" I guess there must be a toilet paper shortage there. The ceiling fan in our room did not work either, which was a disappointment. I told them about this issue on Monday morning, and of course nothing was ever done about it. They only give you 1 hour on one day of the week that you can turn your bed linens, washcloth, and towels in to get clean ones. If you are like us and have plans that day, you are out of luck, and get to use the same towel/washcloth for the week. They don't give you any type room cleaning services during the week. Though they do have issues, some things were nice. The pool area was very nice and large. The game room was nice, although one of the games didn't give us all the tickets we were supposed to get. We ate at the Split Rock Restaurant several times, and it was really good with very good service. The guy making the omelets in the morning was very friendly and knew what he was doing. I actually gave him the tip I'd normally give room cleaning services, since I never got any. Their prices are a little high, but they give coupons to timeshare holders, so that brings the price back down to normal prices. All in all it was a good week, but it's not a place where we are dying to go back to. Oh and by the way, I didn't enjoy having to walk my 9 month old son through smoke every time we went to our car because people were smoking on the front steps.
