North Hills Community Outreach (NHCO) is an interfaith nonprofit organization that addresses the spiritual, emotional, physical and material needs of people in crisis, hardship and poverty.

NHCO provides information and education, makes referrals and facilitates access to resources to bring immediate help in a manner designed to preserve the dignity of individuals and families and to demonstrate the love of God.

Our Vision
Northern Allegheny County is a community where everyone shares with their neighbors in hardship, and no one is cold, hungry or forgotten.

Our Seven Core Values
North Hills Community Outreach provides services to neighbors in need with: Compassion, Effectiveness, Professionalism, Holistic Approach, Collaboration, Vision, Stewardship

A Brief History
In 1986, when flooding ravaged portions of the North Hills, local religious and community leaders worked together to help flood victims. This effort mobilized the community into action so that resources offered by congregations, businesses, civic groups and individuals were directed to the affected families. As a result, North Hills Community Outreach was incorporated in 1987 as an organization of People Helping People.

NHCO serves individuals and families in all of northern Allegheny County outside the City of Pittsburgh. We charge absolutely no fees for our services. We rely on the generosity and support of individuals, businesses, foundations, government entities, religious organizations, schools and civic groups to help us carry out our mission of serving those in crisis, hardship and poverty.
