Newtown Business Association

One South State Street

The Newtown Business Association (NBA) is a membership organization for businesses that are located in Newtown or conduct business in Newtown on a regular basis. The mission of the NBA is to promote Newtown as a great place to live, work, shop and do business.

The Newtown Business Association originated in the 1950's when the organization was known as the Newtown Businessman's Association and was made up of the local businesses on State Street. As the area began to attract more and more shopping areas and professionals in the 1980's, the organization began to change. In the 1990's the Newtown Businessman's Association became the Newtown Business and Professional Association, as we are known today.

The NBA has over 280 members with new businesses joining every week.. Monthly business card exchanges, an annual Business Expo, and business breakfasts help members to network within the organization.  Various community events, such as the Easter Egg Hunt, Welcome Day, the Antique Car Show, and the Business Expo & Culinary Fair promote member businesses in the community.
