HISTORY
Opened in 1894 as a trolley park, Lakemont Park has overcome many obstacles to become the 8th oldest amusement park in the United States.

One of Lakemont's most prized possessions is the world's oldest roller coaster, Leap-the-Dips. Built at the park in 1902 by the E. Joy Morris Company, the historic wooden roller coaster was restored and reopened on Memorial Day 1999. It was named a National Historic Landmark in 1996.

This place has been a dump for years! The only thing good about it is the Holiday Lights in the Lake at Xmas time. Now that it’s closed, I hope they can reinvent something that is fun clean inexpensive and safe for families and children.

My family and I went for lights on the lake and it was beautiful. It was a bit of a wait to get into the park, but since we went on Christmas Day, it wasn't a 30 minute wait like some people had experienced. The lights were fantastic and the radio station they tell you to tune into plays Christmas music nonstop. There was even a game to find the all the hidden elves throughout the event. It was 12$ per car. There is a gift shop at the end you can stop by. Overall, I enjoyed the experience and might go back next year.

Nice little park to hang out with loved ones. Wonderful paddle boats. The place could use a few trees planted here and there. Perhaps too much black top. It was hot in the summer.

Overall a clean park but veryyy old and needs a little updating. The pool is small and family friendly the slides are older and the waterpark is a little to young. The rides are old and rickety as well. But a very nice park. The rollercoasters are really fun and old in a good way. Even if you ride leap the dips and take a dip in the pool and maybe the paddleboats and train you got more than your moneys worth. The gifts are very reasonably priced as well. Overall id come back but its like a once a year trip not all the time .

Christmas Lights On The Lake is worth seeing here. The park itself is relatively small and is closed right now for renovations. Not sure whether they will reopen based on things I've read on local news sources.
