About Us:
The Juniata Valley Winery and Wilson House Bed and Breakfast is owned and operated by George and Colleen Hazard. George and Colleen have been natives to Juniata County since they were both young children. George and Colleen married in May of 1998 and have four sons; George, James, William and Arthur. They live in Juniata County because of their love of the area and to be close to their large extended families which live in the valley.
For the last several years, the Hazards have lived on a small farm just south of Port Royal. Having worked in and around agriculture for the past 15 years, like many, they always wished to be self sustaining. In 2008, George and Colleen started exploring the wine industry and began the challenging process of finding the perfect location to open a winery and tasting room. Having dabbled in wine making in the past, it was decided that this might be an opportunity to work in an agricultural industry that would support the family.
In 2011, they decided to purchase the Wilson House Mansion that was owned at the time by Gary and Sue Tweedlie. This beautiful 200 year old, three story stone house provides numerous entertainment opportunities for a winery as well as opening the doors for a 5 room bed and breakfast.
