Planning our last east coast ski trip of the year (March 31, 2018), decided to try Blue Mountain in Pennsylvania and we could not have been happier. We drove up from Maryland and spent one full day on the slopes. We chose to rent gear – very easy and efficient. We got there early (8:30 AM) and there was no wait. Everyone was friendly, helpful, and efficient. The mountain had many trails including one nice long run – the Lazy Mile. Nice selection of greens, blues and blacks. All the blacks with moguls had groomed paths to the side if needed. Nightmare was an enjoyable single black. Razors Edge and Challenge, the two main big runs, were fast and steep. The trails were pretty well groomed though they got mushy fast with the quickly rising temperature. Most all the snow was man made. The resort was not too crowed and the lifts were quick. For nearby skiing we use Roundtop and Liberty frequently and this was a pleasant change – bigger mountain with longer trails. Though farther to drive we will definitely be back next year. A nice place to ski.
