Bird in Hand - Aaron and Jessica’s Buggy Rides

3121 Old Philadelphia Pike

“At Aaron and Jessica’s you can have your own private buggy.  As couples or families you may have your choice of buggies or wagons.”

Our family settled in the New World in what was to become Pennsylvania in the year 1626. Our first recorded family birth was in 1637 along the Delaware River near Philadelphia.

Aaron and Jessica’s Amish Buggy Rides is owned by Jessica’s dad, and it started with a simple idea…..a little girl…and her horse. “This buggy ride will be the highlight of your visit to Amish Country in Lancaster County,” say our visitors. “It’s for real” Nobody can even come close to offering what you’ll see here… COUPLES and KIDS LOVE IT TOO!

I would NOT recommend this to anyone! My 9 year old daughter really wanted to go on a buggy ride. I asked how long of a wait to do the cookie run. I was told 15 minutes so we gave our name and waited. The weather was cold, it had snowed during the night and we had to wait outside in the elements. After about waiting 30 minutes, we were told that when the small buggy came back, we would be on it. In the meantime a bus load of about 38 people came and were put on all the buggies that came, including the one promised to us. We waited about another 20 minutes and left without getting a buggy ride. My daughter was disappointed but after you are lied to by the owner, I had enough.

Excellent experience. We have been here a couple of times and both times were great. The ride was peaceful and enjoyable. The rides vary in length and they do take you on to Amish property and try to sell you refreshments. But we bought cookies and Lemonade and they were great.

We had a ball on our ride. We learned so much. Our driver was so sweet and kind. I can't remember her name but I will never forget her! She is a special blessing!

This is the second time I have been to this place. The first time was nice. I'm not sure what has happened, but the customer service here has declined considerably. We had to wait almost 20 minutes just to get our name put on the list. We finally left when a customer was taken (to get his name on the list) who just walked up and didn't wait in line. I understand that places get busy. It might be best to hire additional staffing for peak times or have some sort of number taking system. The ride is a bit expensive and tips are expected therefore your customer service needs to be improved. I ended up taking a ride with another company whose customer service is much better.

A group of friends including one all the way from Australia, visited Aaron & Jessicas from NJ on Oct. 3, 2017...I can't say enough about how throughly we enjoyed our buggy ride...None of us had ever done it before and it was a delight!...Our driver Jack Meyer was not only kind, but pleasant and humorous as well...By the end of our ride, we knew more about the humble Amish and their way of life than when we came...If anyone has complaints, about this establishment, I suggest they change their OWN attitudes! As is normal, anywhere one goes these days, there's a degree of waiting involved, We even have to wait months just to come into the world....So patience is the key...I can't speak for anyone else, but WE had a GREAT time, and are planning a bus group to revisit! ..Thanks Jack!...Lona Smith, Keri Muller (from Australia) and the rest of the group! 😉😊😁
